Released in 1969, this album was the subject of much debate: was it jazz or rock? However, no one could dispute the high caliber of musicianship exhibited by Tony Williams (drums), John McLaughlin (guitar) and Larry Young (organ). The collaboration was the beginning of a new style eventually termed "fusion," and this was one of it's benchmark LPs. Originally released as a 2-LP set, Emergency! Is now available as a single CD featuring digital remastering, original artwork and new essay.
