Vinyl LP pressing. Mid to late 1950s, as rockabilly exploded out of Memphis and swept across America, a remarkable yet largely overlooked chapter of the story was unfolding in West Portsmouth, Ohio. In 1958, Glenn McKinney founded Nau-Voo Records, driven by a passion for the new, hard-edged sound of rock 'n' roll. Within just two years, McKinney produced only ten singles on his Nau-Voo and Mack labels - but those scarce releases have since become prized treasures among rockabilly collectors. At the heart of the label stood Billy Adams. Deeply influenced by the Carter Family, Hank Williams and Bill Monroe, Adams fused traditional country roots with the raw, electrifying energy of early rock 'n' roll. But Nau-Voo offered more than just one standout artist. Deacon and The Rock & Rollers delivered the explosive rockabilly anthem Rock It On The Moon a riff-driven powerhouse capturing the untamed spirit of the late '50s. Bobby Lawson made his mark with Baby Don't Be That Way - pumping bass and a killer guitar break turning the track into a prime example of uncompromising 1950s rockabilly. Recorded far from the major industry hubs, these sides rival anything coming out of Memphis or Nashville at the time. This LP is more than a collection of rare singles - it's a powerful time capsule from rockabilly's golden era. Raw, authentic and bursting with energy, it brings the sound of Scioto County back to the turntable. Get it now!
